The hardest midterm I’ve taken D;

Half an hour after I took the midterm for my Food Science and Technology class, my professor sent out the following e-mail:

“Dear Students,

Well, I graded the exam and the results are not good. Please, bring a scantron to class on Thursday and we will have a correction during the first hour of class. You will be able to earn back half the points you missed.

See you on Thursday,
Mrs. Harrison”

The sad part is, she allowed us to bring a cheat sheet to class. While I was taking the test, I thought it was pretty hard, but now that I think about it, it wasn’t that bad. I surely didn’t score well enough to receive an A though, but I think I did okay. Hopefully I’m right, received a decent grade, and am one of the few who did better. I thought I was the only one struggling, but I guess not..

On the bright side, I received a 100% on my individual project for that class and for the group project, I’m paired up with Brittany! :D

College is still a breeeeeeeze. For now, anyway.

October 31, 2011

I woke up an hour “late” this morning. Although class doesn’t start until 9:15 a.m. on Mondays, I was planning on waking up at 6 to curl my hair, get to school, and then walk across campus, to turn in paperwork to my academic advisor, before class. No big deal - curling my hair wasn’t important.

After class, I went to Starbucks and sat there until 12 because my registration period was going to open again, I needed to swap classes, and Starbucks has better internet connection than the library (in certain locations). With priority registration, I’m allowed to enroll in 18 units worth of courses at the standard price, unlike other students, who only receive 12 and then have to pay extra for their courses if they exceed the limit. The only problem was, I had trouble swapping classes today! I wasn’t allowed to swap, so I dropped a class, hoping that I would be able to add in another, but no. So, I booked it to Registar in fear that by the time my issue was solved, there would no longer be a seat in the class for me, since everyone was enrolling the same time I was. When I got there, the receptionist told me, “Yes, as a priority registration student, you are allowed 18 units. The problem is, since today is the regular registration period, it will only allow you to enroll for 12 units, just like everyone else, until tomorrow morning.” I almost had a heart attack until she told me, “But don’t worry. I added the class onto your account for you anyway.” What a relief!

Then, I went shopping for treats to make goody bags for my neighbors and co-workers. Went to work and ran the sample booth inside of the mall, since they were having this Halloween costume contest event. I had purposely asked a few days ago to run the booth because I absolutely adore kids and I wanted to see them frolic around in their costumes. There was a little boy who came up to me and just smiled. When I crouched down, he wanted to hold my hand. Turns out, he’s related to the girl who comes into the shop all the time - the girl in which my supervisor and co-worker like to hit on. Anyway, Vietnamese babies are sooooo cute! His grandma was like, “I don’t know why, but he really likes you! He usually doesn’t follow strangers.” HAHA. I told his grandma to bring him back to the store so I could give him a balloon, and she did.

Now I’m home. I have to go study for my Food Science and Technology midterm now. I hate that class. Well, I hate the chemistry portion of that class. It’s a pain in the butt since I was taught chemistry over the summer by the worst teacher while I was in high school );
